  • Bea Santos is an actor turned filmmaker who needed a site to reflect her unique personality while simultaneously showcasing her work which has its own aesthetic.

Objective: Agencies needed to know that Bea is an actor for hire, as well as a filmmaker looking to collaborate.

This was accomplished by building a custom single-page site, that tells the story of where Bea began in her acting career, and parlayed that experience to help bridge her career in filmmaking. That site visually speaks to this journey as you scroll.

The site needed to be flexible as Bea is continuously working on new film projects. I designed the filmmaking section, so that she can easily swap out projects with newer ones.

For the logo design I drew inspiration from the 70’s, which is her favourite decade for some of her favourite inspirational films. In a node to that, the site has a fun, retro feel. The serif font and her logo tie it together by keeping it professional and sophisticated.

Scope: Visual Identity, Web Design and Build (Squarespace)

    Year: 2022

The client mentioned that people have a hard time pronouncing her name. The solution was to have a secondary logo appear when to user begins to scroll.

“I could not recommend Cecily more! Before I started working with her, I was having doubts about effectively telling my story in a simple yet impactful way. Cecily listened carefully to what my goals were, asked great questions that encouraged me to articulate exactly what I wanted, and made thoughtful suggestions. I really felt listened to and liked that the process was a creative collaboration. The end result was a site with a visual style that was unique to me. The site tells my story in an innovative and one-of-a-kind way. I cringe to think of the alternate reality in which I didn't work with Cecily!”
