Vanessa Meyer - filmmaker

Vanessa Meyer is a filmmaker and a performance artist based in New York. She needed a visual identity that represented her as an artist and would attract storytellers, as well as professionals in the creative arts industry.

Vanessa has a bright and bold personality, which I wanted to infuse into the brand by selecting vibrant and unique colors. She brings a sense of humor and quirkiness to her work, and I wanted to evoke this in the wordmark by overlapping the two S's to create a trompe l'oeil effect. I was mindful of maintaining a sense of professionalism throughout the identity in order to attract clients who would finance, produce, and collaborate on future projects. The colors, gradients, and heavy fonts can lean towards being too loud, so I was strategic when creating other design elements. The identity was kept clean by using borders to divide sections of the website and to frame images.
