SEACHANGE FILMS | JAMIE MILLER FILMMAKER
Jamie Miller, owner of Seachange Films, is an award-winning director and producer of documentary and fictional films.
The client sought a rebrand and wanted to rebuild her website to be more dynamic and cohesive with the brand refresh. She needed a section where people could easily find out where to watch her projects and wanted to be able to update this page and others easily.
The objective was to prominently showcase Jamie Miller’s work as a director first and a producer second.
The selected body of work needed to be presented in a way that would attract professionals looking to hire or collaborate, as well as inform audience members seeking to know when and where to watch.
I aimed to create a visual identity that represented Jamie’s passion for the East Coast landscape, where she draws inspiration. The symbolic meaning of her business name, ‘Seachange’ (the concept of things coming together and meeting), and the overall theme of water, which appears in most of her latest work, needed to be incorporated into the new logo and visual elements.
Jamie wanted swirling waves in the logo as the symbol, emphasizing the importance of movement. I extended this sense of movement into the letterforms by curving the crossbars in the letters ‘A’ and ‘H.’ This curved element was repeated on the website by using a wave-shaped separator for the top intro section of each project page, ensuring cohesiveness across all brand touchpoints.
The water theme continued with the use of color. A blue-teal and dark forest green were chosen as the main colors, while a yellow tint and white were used as accent colors, providing enough contrast to meet accessibility requirements.
