  • Jamie Miller owner of Seachange Films, is an award-winning director and producer of documentary and fictional films.

The client was seeking a rebrand and wanted to rebuild their website to be more dynamic. She wanted to have a section where it would be easy for people to find out where to watch her projects. She also wanted to be able to easily update this page among others.

The objective was to prominently showcase Jamie Miller’s work as a director foremost, and a producer second.

The selected body of work needed to be presented in a way to attract professionals looking to hire and/or those looking to collaborate. The website also needed to include information for audience members seeking to know when and where to watch.

I wanted to create a visual identity that represented Jamie’s passion for the east coast landscape where she draws inspiration. The symbolic meaning for her business name ‘Seachange’ (the concept of things coming together and meeting), and the overall theme of water (which is scene in most of her latest work), needed to be incorporated into the look and feel for her new logo and visual elements.

    This was achieved by:

    • Adding the sense of movement in the letter forms, by curving the crossbars in the letter forms ‘A’ and ‘H’.

    • A curved shaped was created to separate the top intro section for each project page.

    • The water theme continued with the use of colour. A blue teal and dark forest green were used as the main colours, while a yellow tint and white for the accent colours, added enough contrast to meet accessibility requirements.
